June Draw

Written by

Pioneer 1 1Every month I try to come up with something quirky or interesting for the Donation Draw, and I think this month we totally have quirky down!

Pioneer 2 1On the surface, it is just a run of the mill Victorinox Pioneer, but if you look closer you see that it actually is a modified knife- instead of the perfectly peened brass pins usually found in a Victorinox Pioneer, this particular one has screws, which means that it has an adjustable amount of tension on the various flip out features, but can also be disassembled for cleaning, which, let’s face it, is a common problem with Swiss Army Knives in general. I know, I have cleaned hundreds of them myself!

But there’s another twist- this knife, while it is a Pioneer model, didn’t start out as a Pioneer- it began its life coming straight from the factory as a Farmer model, but has had the saw layer removed, leaving a perfect copy of a Pioneer model, except of course with screws instead of pivots.

Bizarre heritage aside, this knife is actually very functional in it’s own right, and, arguably more functional than the original Pioneer it mimics, as it would be a lot easier to clean after a long day at the beach or other sandy locale.Pioneer 3

And, even better, this fantastic knife can be yours for as little as $10- just follow the directions found here on our forum to get an opportunity.

Even if you don’t win, you will be helping to contribute to the operational costs of this website, the only site on the internet with well over 160 multitool reviews, as well as the Forum, the Gallery, the Multitool Encyclopedia and the Multitool.org Channel on YouTube, the Multitool.org Facebook Group and the Multitool.org Twitter account.

So, even if you don’t win the knife, we all win when we enjoy this site!  And, as always, feel free to contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any comments, questions or anything else on your mind!
