This knife is the perfect size for everyday carry, offering what I believe a good pocket knife should have: quality materials, excellent performance, and aesthetic appeal. The Vision FG and its locking mechanism gained significant attention upon release, with many comparing the Snecx Superlock to the Demko Shark Lock. While both locks function similarly, they differ in design. The Superlock is easy to use and makes opening and closing the knife fun and engaging.
Ergonomically, the Vision FG excels. The knife is super comfortable to hold, filling the hand without being too thick. The G10 handle has a balanced texture that provides a good grip without being overly rough. The stylistic holes not only add a unique visual element but also help reduce the knife's weight.
For me, the blade is the standout feature. The reverse tanto shape is versatile, making it equally useful for utility tasks and food prep. The gentle belly combined with the sheepsfoot-style tip enhances its utility. The Damascus blade's San mai construction, with a core of 10Cr15CoMov steel and outer layers of 316 and 5Cr15Mov steel, creates a stunning contrast through acid etching. This steel blend performs similarly to Takefu VG-10 stainless steel and is a better performer than 9Cr, offering beauty and high performance without compromise.
The Vision FG by Snecx Design Lab showcases the brand's commitment to innovation and quality. Whether you're a collector or looking for a reliable everyday carry, the Vision FG is sure to impress with its design, performance, and durability.
