At 6.5 inches overall, the Mini Harpoon is about the size of a pocket knife when open, but with fixed blade reliability. While the handle could have been made with micarta or G10, the choice of PEI (a high-end, amber-colored polymer) is bold and innovative. Its translucent quality reveals neatly arranged capsule-patterned liners, giving it a unique aesthetic.

From an ergonomic standpoint, the Mini Harpoon is next-level. The straight handle, paired with minimal but effective indexing and the blade heel acting as a guard, locks your hand in comfortably. The harpoon’s signature scoop provides a natural resting place for your thumb, enhancing control and precision. The ripple-textured PEI handle offers exceptional grip and tactile feedback—an impressive feat given the material's versatility.

Blade Performance

The Mini Harpoon’s drop point blade is stunning and highly functional. The slim 0.12-inch blade stock, combined with a full flat grind, makes this knife an incredible slicer. Whether in a standard grip or a pinch grip, it offers precise control for fine tasks.

Crafted from CPM-3V steel, the blade boasts excellent edge retention and toughness. It sharpens easily on a ceramic rod, and I’ve noticed no chipping or other issues, a testament to the quality heat treatment. While I’m not usually a fan of coated blades, the black finish is holding up well and pairs strikingly with the amber PEI handle.

Sheath and Carry

The included kydex sheath has a carbon fiber look and offers reliable retention with an authoritative snap when the blade is secured. Its design includes a small lip for thumb-assisted extraction—a game-changing detail that simplifies access.

While the standard belt clip is functional, I opted for an Ulticlip Slim for pocket carry. This setup bridges the gap between my love for folders and the simplicity of a fixed blade, making it even more EDC-friendly.
